Updating the blog

Ok so I realize that I haven't updated my blog for many months. The following is the update for 2009. As most people know I have been in school for the past 4 years. I have finally graduated and now I have no excuse as to why my blog is behind. I do think that I am suffering from PSTD (Post School Traumatic Disorder). I really have had a hard time getting back into normal life, whatever that may be. I have been so busy for so long that I think that sitting on the couch staring at the wall is a great accomplishment some days. I am sure that I will get over the trauma soon. I am so happy to be done with school and be able to move on with my career and life. I have been so fortunate to have such a supportive husband and family through all of this craziness. I hope that I can finally answer the question that Kolton asked me "Mom how many times do you have to graduate from college before you are done?" I can now say 3. (Associate Degree 1996, Bachelors Degree 2007, and Masters Degree 2009.) The whole Mitchell family came to our house on Dec 26th. This is the first time that they have all been together in about 5 years. It was so great to have everyone together. We ate yummy dinner, opened presents, and played ping pong, rock band and just hung out and had fun.
Through all of our craziness, we decided to add another puppy to the mix. This is Grizzly our chocolate flavored puppy. He has many names, his papered name is Remington Green River, he answers to: Fatty, Winston P. Puddles, Glizzlby, and most recently Johnny One Nut (he has an issue he would be embarassed if he knew I was talking about it).

Halloween 2009, Cayla, Chase and Cole were at our house for Halloween, Chara was in the hospital so we had the kids. We had a lot of fun first coming up with their costumes at the last minute and then going trick-or-treating. Another time that helped me appreciate all my Mom did for us, (and I only had 5 kids that weekend).

I was able to go to Florida in October, I went to a conference that was designed to help NNP students study for boards. Florida is a very beautiful place. Wouldn't want to live there but could visit there again.

Does this look like trouble??? The boys had so much fun going up to deer/elk camp. They got to shoot guns with Uncle Mike and hang out with their dad. It is a little scarey how much they like guns. Good thing they know gun safety also.

More updates.....

We took a last minute trip to Lake Powell in September. We celebrated Kamren's 10th birthday and had lots of fun fishing and swimming and teaching our new puppy how to swim.

We did get to do some ballooning in '09 but not as much as we would have liked to. We only made it to the Cedar Balloon Festival. We hope to make it to 3-4 festivals this year.

During the summer of '09 I had to do a lot of clinical hours at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake for school. My boys had so much fun with all the family in Northern Utah. Uncle Kent took them fly fishing and boating, they got to do a lot of other fun things like: learning about Uncle Stan's old truck, mowing lawns all over North Ogden and Pleasant View (yes Kamren thinks this if fun), swimming, boating, playing, hanging out and best of all getting to know their family that lives far away. Thank you to all that helped us get through this busy time.

SMF 2009

The SMF reunion was at Camp Mary by Bryce Canyon, it was so fun. Scott and Kjirsten were in charge of it this year and they did an awesome job. We had fun hiking, fishing, visiting and playing games. It was pretty cold at night but we were prepared for it so we didn't freeze too bad. Kamren ran up this hill and sat in this arch.
Brinley, our new little lab puppy was introduced to water for the first time, she really liked it as long as she could touch the bottom and her nose did not get wet.

Kamren caught a few fish in the little creek.

Kolton caught a ton of fish in the Reservoir.

Kamren got sick of fishing and thought that throwing a fit would help, it didn't. Brinley tried to help him feel better, she didn't.

70-miler

The boys and I decided to go for a ride the other day, we went from our house up to Maverick and filled up both bikes with gas, and then we headed for the hills, up the frontage road, through Summit and then up the mountain. It was such a pretty day. We got pretty far up the mountain and I said we better head back because the little bike has a very small gas tank, the boys weren't ready to turn around so we ended up going all the way to Brian Head we filled the tanks again there and then had some ice cream.
Then we headed home, it ended up being 70 miles total. Wow it was really fun. Some of the pictures are taken from a look out that makes you feel like you are on top of the world.

The boys love riding, I guess that I do too.

Cottonwood Relief Society

We had a really great time at the RS sleep over. It was at the Hunter's cabin in Right Hand canyon. I took our 4-wheeler and was able to go on some fun rides. This pic is blurry and crooked because we were really on this slanty hill.
Fun times, the wild flowers were so pretty.

OOPs, I got a little bruise on my thigh on this trip. Big bump on the 4-wheeler=big bruise on the leg. It was still fun.

New Castle

We spent a day at New Castle Fishing and swimming, it was really nice to all be together. Kolton caught this 'massive' small mouth bass.
Kamren caught this little tiny wiper.

Kolton tried to learn how to dive....he was not too successful.

Allen was trying to show him how to dive head first...feet last.

Kolton and Allen...look at those eyes.

24th of July in Logan

Ok don't be scared but I am actually updating our blog. I have been so busy with school and work that I have not been able to take time to up date since Kolton's B-day (December). I only have one more semester left of school and maybe life can be a little more normal, whatever that is.

The Rootbeer Reunion. Kort, Braden and Trey (he is hiding in the back with the drums) We spent the 24th of July in Logan, with Jon, Becky and boys, we got to see our favorite band play 'The Rootbeer Reunion' it was so fun to watch the show, and Kort what happened to your pants??? Kamren listens to their CDs almost every night when he goes to bed, but we had not ever been to a show.
Kort, Trey and Kamren watching the pie eating contest.

Kamren, Kort, Kolton and Trey watching the parade, from the back.

The front side of the handsome dudes. Kolton and Kamren spent the night and fished, swam, rode motorcycles, chased chickens and got really really dirty. They had a blast. We are so lucky to have such a great family.
